Our initial focuses were the dating and entertainment sectors where uptake on new technologies is traditionally quick. We then found that the key principles of these sectors can be successfully applied to a wide range of B2C and B2B markets where data matching, search functionality and user profiling have great value. Adding mobile capabilities to the mix brings important communication and retention tools in a highly personalised space. And within a global market-place user habits and access points vary considerably. For example in South Africa handset penetration is reckoned to be over 95% while access to desktops remains in single % figures.
At the core of our community solutions our Community Platform (CP) provides an advanced system platform for many successful web and mobile communities. These include Mobidate, our platform for mobile dating and social networks. CP also drives job sites, b2b communities, dating sites, referral marketing, DVD Rental and social networks.
In Entertainment our DVD Rental System serves online rental brands in over 25 countries including the European market leader Love Film. We are also behind initiatives to develop online libraries development. The library is perhaps one of the most traditional off-line communities and we are helping one of the world’s largest authorities to develop a new online service proposition.
For both entertainment sites and communities we provide cross channel capabilities allowing communities and services to be accessed from desktops and mobile handsets. These efforts include mobile functionality and communications for standalone mobile domains or developing portal based interfaces for the likes of Vodaphone Live. As a result we have learnt a lot about what works and what doesn’t for mobile. We are also experienced in the delivery of DRM protected media content using our Streaming Media Solution and provide various user generated content capabilities.
